Here is a quick grammar lesson. If you hear someone say, "If you ask a human, 'What species are you,' chances are that they will probably say 'human,'" would you correct them? Now, you may possibly be wonder what is wrong with that sentence; and here's your answer. "Human" is a concrete, singular noun and "they" is a plural, third person, plural pronoun. A plural pronoun with a singular antecedant is incorrect grammar. The correct form of this sentence would be, "If you ask a human, 'What species are you,' chances are that he/she will probably say 'human.'"
